The Springs was designed by Noel back in 1982. Offering a beautiful vantage point into the city, the design of The Springs in Spring Hill was inspired by its function over ‘traditional’ forms.
This project consists of seventeen apartments, comprising seven storeys above ground and one underground carparking level. The form of the building is derived form its function rather than the traditional forms of timber and tin architecture from the surrounding suburb of Spring Hill. The building is built in a transition zone between the commercial city sector and adjoining residential suburbia.
The architecture reflects the stepped plan form exposing curved balconies and living rooms to spectacular views. The building sits high on the hill overlooking the city and, apart from the views, the building is sited to take advantage of the sea breezes form the north-east. The building is finished with white plaster. The penthouse apartments on the top of the building have extensive roof gardens and entertainment areas on the roofs, while the ground floor apartments open onto private landscaped gardens.
