Located at the gateway to the Fortitude Valley and on the fringe of the Brisbane CBD in the Bowen Hills Urban Development Zone, the twin tower residential and retail building is situated on the corner of Gregory Terrace and Brunswick Street and closely located to surrounding landmarks such as the Old Museum, Victoria Park Golf Course and the Brisbane Showgrounds.
527 Gregory Terrace will comprise of two distinct towers offering excellent subtropical lifestyle. Each tower expresses its own identity with different facade treatments and form.
The 25 storey tower is a sculptural smooth form with banding wrapping the facade while the 30 storey tower is broken into a variety of expressions with a geometric aesthetic and feature screening to the Brunswick Street facade. The towers are linked with vertical gardens at the base. The terracotta screen creates a link to the site’s heritage, specifically the Old Museum.
The screen is a contemporary, bold statement that takes inspiration from organic, fluid forms expressed throughout the towers whilst its materiality links to the rich, textural brick facades of the Old Museum. These screens will incorporate climbing vegetation and perforations creating a unique threshold between the busy street edge and the apartments.
