Noel Robinson Architects completed this design concept for the restoration and refurbishment of the historic colonial Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva, Fiji.
Valued at $40 million Fijian dollars (AUD $31 million) the existing historic Grand Pacific Hotel was to be upgraded to bring modern-day luxury to this unique waterfront colonial building.
The original Grand Pacific Hotel first welcomed guests in 1914 and at that time was billed as the finest hotel in the South Pacific. The hotel’s history includes hosting foreign visitors in a grand style during the early days of South Pacific steamship travel.
The project is unrealised.
